Helping Our Military Community
As a military spouse and veteran caregiver, my passion is to serve my community and help create opportunities through transition, showing veterans and caregivers how to thrive and find a new purpose in life after military service no matter injuries or circumstances.

My grandfather, Sergeant Major Baucom, lost his battle to PTSD after serving in the Vietnam war. My grandmother didn’t have the tools and education that I have today. When my own husband medically retired after injuries in Iraq, we endured years of transition and almost lost him due to physical and emotional scars. I had to end my career yet find a way to earn an income, uproot our lives, and be a full-time caregiver.
I became isolated, depressed, and yet maintain my composure as I held strong for my hero. I walked on eggshells, never knowing what each day would bring. I hid behind closed doors, careful to keep others from seeing the man that war brought home, the shell that I knew was not my husband. I fought alone. Faith and my extreme love for my husband got me through until I could find or create the resources that I needed to navigate this new life.
As we stabilized his health, Jeff and I started a business from home, and eventually founded Patriots Cove, a nonprofit serving veterans, first responders, and their caregivers. It has saved us both and gave us a new military family and support network.
I serve my community with a mission to empower them to create opportunities through transition, whether finding that means finding a new purpose, providing respite and self-care tools, advocacy education, and training to work remotely. But most of all, my goal is to help them realize that they are not alone.
If you know a veteran, first responder, or caregiver please share this page with them!
